Meet Sylvia W. Mumia
Counseling Psychologist
I am a Counseling Psychologist and a Police Officer with the Kenya Police Service, where I work in psychological support and mental wellness.
Over the years, I have worked closely with young people and families navigating emotional stress, trauma, behavioral challenges, and major life transitions. Through this work, I have seen how early emotional support can shape a young person’s future, and how many parents quietly struggle while trying to do their very best.
Talk to Sylvia was created to offer guidance, education, and emotional support during one of the most sensitive stages of life. It is a space for honest conversations, practical tools, and reassurance for both young people and their parents.
My approach is warm, practical, and rooted in mental health education. I believe that when families are informed and supported, they make clearer decisions, communicate better, and grow with confidence.
